Foundations and Endowments
John C. Fabie
As the senior director of the Foundations and Endowments group, John is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the client service requirements for the firm’s institutional clients. He is particularly passionate about his work in helping to create and manage public and private charities.
John has more than 30 years of experience in institutional consulting. Before joining the Wells Fargo organization in 2010, he was a managing director at Marquette Asset Management, where he was a founding member of the firm and a member of the board of directors. Prior to Marquette Asset Management, John served in institutional consulting roles as a vice president with Bel Air Investment Advisors, a managing director at Piper Jaffray, and vice president with Merrill Lynch Pierce Fenner & Smith.
John was commissioned a United States Army, Aviation Branch Officer in 1984 (ROTC). He served as scout helicopter pilot and attack helicopter company commander in the U.S. Army Reserve, achieving the rank of captain.
John earned his bachelor’s degree with honors from Boston University. He is a Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®) and earned the Investment Management Consultants Association’s (IMCA) Foundations and Endowments certificate in conjunction with the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania in May 2008.
John is a life member of the Army Aviation Association of America and the Military Officers Association of America. In 2021 John was honored as a Board Member Emeritus of the Minnesota State Fair Foundation for his work in creating the foundation’s endowment program.
